You can see that this woman had front teeth that protruded too far. She had seen on T.V. make over shows how teeth could be changed quickly and wondered if she was a good candidate for cosmetic treatment. At 65 years old she did not want to to through the time and expense of orthodontics to move her front teeth back.

Not all porcelain crowns are created equal. Some porcelain crowns have a substructure of metal, which will, many times, make the tooth look opaque. This causes the tooth to stand out in one's smile. This woman wanted a more pleasing smile, so we suggested just removing the crown and replacing it with an all porcelain crown. Notice in the after picture, that the crown looks more in unison with the other teeth, giving her a smile that is more natural and beautiful.
